Mechanical Engineering Transfer Students Who Have Completed a Pre-Engineering Program
Mechanical Engineering students transferring to UT Tyler after completing a pre-engineering program at a junior college, community college, or another university may
make the following substitutions for ENGR 1200 (Engineering Methods), MENG 1201
(Mechanical Engineering I - CAD), and MENG 2201 (Mechanical Engineering II
- Structured Programming):
- ENGR 1101 (Introduction to Engineering)
and a Technical Writing course will substitute for ENGR 1200
- An Engineering Design Graphics
(CAD-based) course, 2 (or more) semester credit hours, will substitute
for MENG 1201
- A Structured Programming course,
2 (or more) semester credit hours, will substitute for MENG 2201
Transfer students who
have not taken a Technical Writing course will be required to take ENGR
1200 during their first year at UT Tyler. Students
should also have completed a Statics course equivalent to UT Tyler ENGR 2301 and a Dynamics course equivalent to ENGR 2302. Additionally, students should have completed a Linear Circuits course equivalent to EENG 3304.
Some courses that may help your transition to UT Tyler, including EENG
3304, are usually offered in the
summer. Check with the college for availability.
