Three
faculty members obtained an NSF grant to purchase equipment for a manufacturing
laboratory to support product realization throughout the curriculum.
The equipment is housed primarily in the Fabrication Laboratory. Students
utilize the equipment for lab exercises and demonstrations in MENG 3219,
Introduction to Manufacturing, and for assistance with product realization
in the design courses.
The
Manufacturing Laboratory was intentionally equipped with portable desktop
equipment that can be easily moved into a classroom for demonstration
