The UT Tyler student section had four students accompany Dr. Mountain to the Student Professional Development Conference (SPDC) Held at Louisiana Tech. Heather Weissinger presented a Poster and was cheered on by Rachael Priestly, Fred Meyer and Lucas Woodruff.

The Student Leadership Seminar was rescheduled due to Huricane Ike. It was moved from September 26-27 in Houston to being scheduled October 3-4,  2008 in Dallas. Attending the conference will be Dr. Jeff, Heather Weissinger, Ian McDaniel and Cammie Allen. The days will be packed with excellent presentations and training sessions for both the officers and the student section advisor. The professional sections Management Training Session is once again scheduled in parallel, so the interaction with engineering professionals is once a again a part of the training.

Help The ASME Student Section to reclaim their title. Dr. Jeff can always use some help getting the Award Winning, Laser Processed Chili prepared and cooked. The cookoff is Saturday, October 11, 2008 running from about 7:30 am to about 1 p.m. This year we are looking for Prep help, as well as event day chefs. Check with Dr. Jeff for details!

The conference will be hosted by UT Arlington. That's about all we know at present. More info as it becomes available.
